Hello  my friends!!




My name is Carolina Ortega  I live in Lerma, I’m Mexican and I’m 21 years old. I love reading or staying with my family or friends, I like parks. My favorites artists are Ely Guerra, Café Tacvba, Mika, Bunbury, She’s a Tease and others.

I like romantic stories, I don’t believe in the true love, I think that only exist in movies or books, because in the present is difficult find honest people. I think that people believe that is only for the moment that during for 4 or 6 months. Ok, but this my opinion. 
Well, I’m here again to bring you information about my favorite painters.

 :::  FRIDA KAHLO  :::

It’s a woman strong, she had a difficult life, she had problems with her health and when she decided paint, because she had an accident in a bus, Frida suffered depression for the long time, in at moment she decided painting. After a long recovery, she showed her work to Diego Rivera.
She felt in love and she gets married with Diego. Frida make a big difference in art and was the first painter woman.

Kahlo received a commission from the Mexican government for five portraits of important Mexican women in 1941
Kahlo’s fame as an artist has only grows her beloved “Blue house” was openend as a museum in 1958. The feminist movement of the 1970 led to renewed interest in her life and work.
Her ashes were placed in a pre- colombina there is in the “Blue Hose” that she shared with Diego.
She said: that “they thought I was a surrealist person, but I was not. I never painted my dreams, just painted my own reality” –Frida Khalo—

         :::   DIEGO RIVERA  :::

Rivera was a talented Mexican painter associated with the muralist movement. Diego was born in 1886 in Guanajuato, Mexico.

He painted murals and the School of Fine Arts, The American Stock Exchang Luncheon Club. Diego met Frida Kahlo , she was an art student , they get married the year after in 1928. 

Although their relationship had been stormy; Rivera was devastated for the death of Frida Kahlo in 1954.

Rivera is considered the greatest of the Mexican muralist, an art form which was imitated around the world.

Diego  Rivera returned to murals with one made for the 1940 Golden Gate international exposition held in San Francisco. In Mexico City, he spent from 1945 to 1951 working on a series of murals known as “From the Pre-Hispanic Civilization”
Diego Rivera died in 1957, on July 12th 1958, the “Blue House” was officialy opened as the “Museum Frida Kahlo”.


        :::  THE BLUE HOUSE  ::

Frida and Diego lived in the “Blue House” in Mexican City. It is now a museum, the “ Blue House” belong to Frida’s Kahlo family since 1958, now it is as museum dedicated to her life and work.
